Brexit is a kidney stone

By George ILIEV
Brexit Metaphor No 148

Brexit is a kidney stone. If a stone doesn't grow too big, it will pass through the bladder and be excreted in the urine stream. But if it grows more than 5 mm, it can block the ureter and cause pain.

The Brexit kidney stone has been growing for almost three years. Yet, the forthcoming extension of Brexit will delay the moment when we find out if the stone is small enough to be excreted or if it will stay lodged inside the body and continue causing bleeding and pain.
