Brexit Metaphor No 49
Britain is a proud country with several centuries of victorious history, hence the well-deserved lion on the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom.
Britain is also a country with traditions rooted in myth and magic, from St George and the Dragon, King Arthur, and Robin Hood, to crop circles and the Loch Ness Monster. Hence the unicorn on the Royal Arms (and don't blame it only on the Scottish!)
So given this mesmerising mix of deep symbolism on the coat of arms of the country, is it surprising that 17 million Brits decided to believe in Brexit myths and many of them are still proudly sticking with their belief in magic?
Water and oil may not mix but in Britain lions and unicorns do - and the offspring is Brexit.
