Brexit has two parts: 1) getting drunk on sovereignty; 2) suffering a long hangover

By George ILIEV
Brexit Metaphor No 50

The role of sovereignty in Brexit is similar to the role of alcohol in a drinking party: you can easily get inebriated on both. But then the hangover kicks in the following morning and you have to endure the consequences of your decisions: the headache from the drinking and the economic effects of Brexit. The only difference is a hangover lasts no more than a day, while the negative consequences of Brexit will last for years.

Let's hope that the British Parliament has stayed sober while the rest of the population has been drinking.
